Gillette To File Letter Of Intent To Transform Fort Point Campus

updated 08/21/24 with link to Letter of Intent and press release

A Message From Gillette To The Neighborhood

We will be filing a Letter of Intent today, August 21, 2024,with the Boston Planning Department to begin the formal process for our South Boston Site transformation.

This filing will be consistent with what we have previously shared regarding our vision for reimagining the site.  We see a true generational opportunity to transform our industrial campus to bring incredible benefits for the community and city.  We are particularly excited about the project’s potential to improve community access through/to the site, bring much needed housing, create one of the largest inclusive waterfront parks ever built on private land in the city and add a new level of resiliency alongside the Channel to protect the surrounding communities.  We are also very enthusiastic about the potential to boost economic development in this unique, transit accessible part of the city, bringing new industry, jobs, tax revenue, linkage funds and more.

We are looking forward to sharing more details on our project vision with you and the community as we embark on the next phase of this process.   We plan to host several community meetings/workshops ahead. The dates of these are as follows:

  • Site Tour and Workshop #1 - Thursday, September 19th
  • Workshop #2 – Tuesday, October 1st
  • Workshop #3 – Thursday, October 24th

Later today, we will also launch a public website (www.GilletteBostonUpdate.com) to provide ongoing updates on the project along with the calendar of events ahead.   We hope this will make it as easy as possible for anyone who is interested to participate.

As we announced last Fall, we will remain an important part of this city with our Headquarters and Technical Innovation Center staying in South Boston.  We are grateful to continue to benefit from this vibrant city and the strong innovation ecosystem all around us and we remain eager to realize this incredible opportunity to leave a legacy for our Grooming home and community.

We appreciate your continued support as we continue through this journey.   As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions tgillettecommunity.im@pg.com
