FPNA Monthly Meetings - Starting Next week!
The Fort Point Neighborhood Association is excited to announce a calendar of meetings and events for 2014. We are looking for your input to make our neighborhood an even better place to live, work and play.
Monthly meetings will be held on the fourth Tuesday of each month starting at 6pm and finishing by 8pm Factory 63 (63 Melcher St., ground level)

general meeting at 6:00pm and a special guest for a community
discussion/question and answer period each month. The January 28th meeting will feature City Council President Bill Linehan at 7:00pm.

Details on Snow Emergency
To the Residents of South Boston:
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued throughout
Massachusetts. The City of Boston has also declared a Snow Emergency
and Parking Ban that will go into effect at noon today. Due to the Snow
Emergency, parking is prohibited on all major
roadways and arteries throughout Boston. The purpose of the ban is to
keep major roadways accessible for snowplows and emergency response
vehicles. Those found violating the ban will be subject to ticketing
and towing. As an alternative, parking garages
will be made available for cars with resident stickers.
In South Boston, the following roads are subject to the Parking Ban:
A St.
B St.
(from West First St. to West Second St.)
Boston St.
Broadway
(from Albany to Dorchester Ave.)
C St.
(from West Broadway to West First St.)
Congress St.
D St.
Dorchester Ave.
Dorchester St.
East Broadway
East First St.
L St.
Northern Ave.
Old Colony Ave.
(from Dorchester Ave. to Preble St.)
Old Colony Blvd.
Preble St.
Seaport Blvd.
(from Atlantic Ave. to B St.)
Shore Drive
Southhampton St.
Summer Street
West Broadway
West First St.
(from B St. to East First St.)

Additionally, the Department of Conservation and
Recreation closed Morrissey Boulevard earlier this morning and it will
remain closed until further notice.
While parking on these roads is prohibited until
the ban is lifted, those with resident stickers can park at the
following garages:
12 Drydock Ave.
1766 spaces
450 West Broadway
60 spaces
650-652 East Broadway
22 spaces
415 Summer St. (BCEC South Lot)
1300 spaces

As a result of the Snow Emergency, Boston Public Schools will also be closed tomorrow, January 3, 2014.
The Mayor's 24-Hour Hotline is open and those
with weather-related questions or concerns, including icy conditions or
downed power lines/trees, should call (617) 635-4500.
The City's Shelter Commission asks that any
resident who sees a potential medical emergency involving a homeless
person dial 9-1-1.
Lastly, just a reminder to please check on any
elderly neighbors or family members who may need help during the Snow
Emergency.
