Good People takes place in South Boston, where playwright David Lindsay-Abaire grew up. David was a member at the South Boston Boys & Girls Club beginning at age 6. As an outstanding member of the Club, David was selected to receive the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston Milton Academy Scholarship when he was 13.The scholarship was a life changing experience and David quickly became busy with the rigorous curriculum at Milton, where he also became interested in theatre. However, we’d like to think he got his start at the South Boston Club, where he played the role of Prince Charles for a reenactment of the 1982 Royal Wedding. Although he was busy with his studies and extracurricular activities at Milton, he still found time to periodically drop in at the South Boston Club. This past May, David was inducted into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Hall of Fame.
