Volunteers needed to come help dig in and plant final fall plantings along the A Street Fence. About 100 plants will be placed along the A Street fence and in empty spots as need around the Tree circles.

In addition to we hope to place about 600 -900 bulbs around the tree circles and along the A Street fence in anticipation of Spring 2013.....the first time we are getting organized to do bulbs at these locations.

We have a limited supply of gardening gloves and tools so if folks can bring their own shovels or gardening trowels please do.

Donations. For those who have walked along the fence all summer and admired the gardening efforts....were asking for the input of some green support in the form of cash money donations to help defray the cost of plantings and related gardening materials....soil and mulch...plus 186 stakes to protect the garden from snow plows in the coming winter.

Soil bag of soil can be $15 dollars per bag. mulch is $10 per bag, 50 bulbs are $15 dollars a bag, individual plants can range from $10 - $25 per plant...So obviously cost all add up ...so donations in any amount are greatly appreciated.  Donations may be directed to:

FREE Outdoor Multi-media Chamber Music Concert rescheduled to our rain date, Thursday Sept. 6th 6:30-8:30pm on the waterfront on Atlantic Wharf

Not ready to let go of summer? Join us for a last, sweet evening outdoors by the harbor listening to the Boston Virtuosi. As the orchestra plays Boccherini's evocative night in the Streets of Madrid and slinky Tango, watch two Fort Point artists paint big canvases live on-stage in response to the music.
Families welcome! Or, if you are looking for a very special date-night, check out the wonderful dinner option at Smith and Wollensky!

The forecast is for lovely late summer weather but if it rains on Sept 6th the concert will be held in the atrium of 290 Congress Street.

Theatre Event to Benefit Southie Boys & Girls Club

A special performance of
The Huntington Theatre Company’s production of
Good People to support the South Boston Boys & Girls Club

Thursday, September 20, 2012

More info:

Good People
takes place in South Boston, where playwright David Lindsay-Abaire grew up. David was a member at the South Boston Boys & Girls Club beginning at age 6. As an outstanding member of the Club, David was selected to receive the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston Milton Academy Scholarship when he was 13.The scholarship was a life changing experience and David quickly became busy with the rigorous curriculum at Milton, where he also became interested in theatre.  However, we’d like to think he got his start at the South Boston Club, where he played the role of Prince Charles for a reenactment of the 1982 Royal Wedding.  Although he was busy with his studies and extracurricular activities at Milton, he still found time to periodically drop in at the South Boston Club. This past May, David was inducted into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Hall of Fame.
