The concert Features two amazing guest soloists-Claudio Ragazzi and Nando Michelin, who have scored original material for the ensemble with Boston Virtuosi cellist Cameron Sawzin.
Composer and guitarist Claudio Ragazzi has been writing award winning music for film and television, and performing with some of today's most respected musicians. The youtube performance link with Claudio and cellist Yo Yo Ma is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HamfXf8mp7I.
Our second guest is Nando Michelin, brilliant jazz pianist and professor at Berklee College of music. His music has received wide acclaim by the press, among other publications, Jazz Times called ART "an ear-grabbing gallery of breath-taking originals" http://www.last.fm/music/Nando+Michelin+Trio
The concert has an intriguing twist: Two Fort Point artists will share a canvas, painting what they hear live as one of the pieces unfolds on stage. This live component will present art as chamber music, turning the solitary aspect of creating art on its head. The image will be recreated and available for sale. The InterContinental has pre-purchased the original for 1,000, but we are offering several different options for the reproduced image. ranging from a print to a full wrapped canvas piece. Please contact Cameron Sawzin at cam.zin@verizon.net for a more detailed price list. Interested supporters can also order the pieces at the event. This Fort Point concert will be the first of many events designed to promote the district's cultural vitality with live music and your purchase will move us forward to a full concert season.
Please join us for an unforgettable event!
